addressed to Mr. H.L.Dermys on 28th. March which enquiry was received by General Post Office and handed to Superintendent for action on 2nd.September but was kept by him in his drawer without, taking any action and was found in his drawer on the 29th.September, instant.
The Superintendent is therefore charged with neglect of duty in not attending promptly to the despatch of these ack- nowledgement, Receipts and to enquiries for missing covers,
5. On the 20th September instant, in consequence of the work of pasting in Registration slips having fallen into arrear as shown by charge 3 the ost-Master General issued special instructions that all such slips were to be posted in immediately on receipt, and that the Senior Officer on duty should report to the Superintendent that the work had been done. Further that the Superintendent should report to the Post Master General at the close of any day on which the work had not been completed.
On the 21st the Post Master General handed 4 of such slips to the Senior clerk of the Registration Department on the 22nd. these slips had not been pasted in and the Su- perintendent had not reported the failure to paste them in. The Superintendent is therefore charged with dis- #obeying the instructions issued by the Post Master General on the 20th.September.
6. On the 21st.September instant the Superintendent was incapacitâted by drink for the proper discharge of his duties.
7. The Superintendent is wanting in diligence end industry and has generally shown a want of command and an incapacity to perform the duties of his office.
